I am now calling on the Premier to consider ‘regional trading bubbles’, where there are low (or no) cases of COVID-19, so that restaurants, pubs and clubs can trade more freely to locals. The current restrictions are devastating regional areas, particularly border towns where patrons are driving across the river to access meals and entertainment.
People living within their shire should be allowed to attend their local establishments, and easing restrictive numbers of patrons to allow 50 patrons would assist businesses to continue to trade.
Let common sense prevail and give our local traders an opportunity to recover.
